Last week, the League was asked to write about items from pop culture that they hated as kids. Of course, the League of Extraordinary Bloggers is comprised of fine people who don’t have a mean streak in them, but I guess there has been a little bit of vile hatred seething in our bones for…
- Fun Town and the Banana Splits
- G.I. Joe
- The good guys
- G.I. Joe (again)
- Boy Bands
- My Little Pony
- Baby Alive
- Hermione Granger
- Hungry Cereal Mascots
- Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
- Zoobilee Zoo
- A few Top 40 Singles from the 80’s
- Scrappy Doo
- Ball Pits (I know I shouldn’t have favorites, but this one wins the week for me.)
- Those Ghostbusters
- Hate for games
- The Superfriends
- The Karate Kid (gasp!)
- The Wonder Twins
- The Flower Kids
- South Park
- South Park (again)
I find it interesting that when the topic is “hate,” we had a record number of responses from the female persuasion. Noodle on that one. 😉
I would never have thought to see G.I. Joe on this list, let alone twice! I may need to find some new friends.
King Kong’s World Tour
Have you heard? King Kong is on the loose and traveling the world. I want to invite all my fellow League members to sign on as a stopping point for Kong to visit in his travels. Huh? Don’t worry, it’s all explained here.
Fellow League member, Fong Sam of Black Sparrow Auctions has put together anawesome vintage toy and pop culture auction that will be held at the upcoming C2E2 show in Chicago. Fong has graciously offered to mail any League member a printed catalog for the auction. Just email him your mailing address and let him know you’re in the League, and he’ll send you a catalog. Thanks Fong!
Remember, to stay a League member in good standing, you should add some links to your fellow League members in your post to help spread the love. I’ll post the new topic later today!
Don’t forget, if you sign up for the Cool & Collected email newsletter, you will get a reminder on Mondays about the new League topic.
If you’re playing along at home and want to join the League, all you need is a love of pop culture and a blog. Come join the fun, and tell your friends!
