Having just returned from a week at the beach, this week’s League topic will be a breeze for me! Let’s see what memories can be stoked by this topic…
The League is always open to new members! Got a blog? Write a post in response to the weekly challenge, and you’ll be included. It’s that easy!
Once you put up a post on your site add a comment below with the URL. Next Monday, I will put up a post here on Cool & Collected with a list of all the contributing blogs. Once that list is posted, if you haven’t already done so, try to incorporate at least three of your fellow League members’ links (but more would be great!) into the article you wrote on your site.
By cross-posting like this, we will help each other out by sending new readers to each other’s sites. Have fun!
(Wondering what the heck this is all about? We’re recruiting for this loose-knit, rag tag crew! Here are the details for contributing to The League.)
I have a problem: It is winter in the South Hemisphere!!
Ha! We can make an exception for you Yelinna. 😉
So just write about how us antipodeans get short shrift by having summer and Xmas combined into one holiday 😉
That would work! 😉
As a fellow blogger, I will send some warm thoughts your way.
Thanks for your kind words, they’re warming! By now I’m lacking of inspiration but I think I can come out with someting before monday 😀
Brian: I’lll take the exception.
Chris: It’s great to be your fellow blogger!
Andrew: Having summer in Xmas and New Year rocks! In Lima, young adults use to go to the beach for New Year (and get drunk). I prefer to go to the opposite side: the highlands.

Man, I’ve had an article started/drafted for years that would go perfectly with this topic. Unfortunately I need to get some pics from some home movies for it and I’m not sure I’ll be able to do this in a timely fashion. I had the pics but lost them when my computer crashed.
Maybe I’ll think of something else.
It’s time to go fishing!

Summer, summer, summer time!
After reading Miss M. “Summer and Toys post” I wanted to add some information about peruvian summer:
In the South hemisphere, Summer goes from December to March. It means Xmas cames when summer is getting started, so children get new toys for summer!!!
Dolls, action figures, remote control toys, inflatable pools, beach toys, bikes ans skateboards… it was amazing!!!
Sadly, when you grow up and have to go to work/study/do stuff in february (the hottest month in the peruvian coast/amazon rainforest) you literally fell how your brain melts inside your skull. Plus: the average building/house in Perú has no conditioning air!!!
On Los Andes mountains, it is the rainy/stormy season (goes from Octuber to April). It is also cooler than July or August (the “summer” in the highlands).

I ask for a less busy summer vacation in this post that took me until 1AM to write because life has become so busy.
