Terminator 2 Ultimate T-800 figure from NECA

The new Ultimate Terminator 2 T-800 figure from NECA raises the bar significantly for action figure collectors. This figure comes with three heads that you can easily swap onto the figure, and an arsenal of different weapons. This sort of customization has been around for a while with the larger 12″ scale figures from Hot Toys and others, but having this sort of customization with a 7″ figure is new — and awesome! I am terrified of handling the Hot Toys Adam West Batman figure I own, because of its cost and fear of breaking it, but I had no hesitation ripping Arnie’s head off this T-800 as soon as it was opened. The figure retails for under $30 which is a total bargain for what you get.

I could not wait to take some photos of the big lug…

I love this figure so much. It comes very, very close to being my favorite action figure, but that title will always stay in the hands of the Planet of the Apes line. Speaking of apes…

Hey look, my first attempt at a custom action figure! I actually bought the T-800 with the sole intent of doing this — once I saw the swappable heads, the idea was born and it had to be done. As I look at the box of figures I have accumulated, the wheels are spinning on overdrive. NECA may have discontinued the Planet of the Apes line, but in my house, the apes shall rise again!
