Six Million Dollar Man “Fight for Survival” model kit by Fundimensions

Hey kids! You can be all about your Miley Cyrus twerking and your One Dimension, but want to know what we were all about in the 70’s? This pretty much sums it up…

This model kit combines two of my favorite things: cyborgs and simians. And you don’t even need any frickin’ glue! Pure genius is what this is. Steve Austin was the man in the late 70’s, taking out any man or beast that made the mistake of getting in his way.

Just look at the hidden glory in this kit — “removable panels to display Bionic mechanisms!!” Sweet! The side panel also displays another model kit where the Bionic Man is bursting through a steel door, taking out the entire surrounding stone wall in the process. There is actually another model in this series, where our hero is wrestling an alligator. That’s right.

A huge gorilla is no match for Steve Austin, as proven in this documentary.(Is that how you spell “Equitorial?”)

This particular kit has never been put together, but some kid started to paint the pieces. The fact that he painted the gorilla white rather than black, takes things to a whole new level.

Gentlemen, I can rebuild him. I have the technology. I have the capability to build the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. — and fighting a mythical white ape. It will be glorious.

Oh, I definitely plan to build it and display it alongside some of my old Aurora models. I picked this kit up at a local toy show this weekend: https://www.coolandcollected.com/a-visit-to-greenbergs-train-toy-show/

Wow, nice show! It would be hard to walk out of there empty handed! Be sure to post the finished model when you get a chance.
BTW, I like the new website!

Man, I had this when I was a kid!!! I totally forgot about it until I saw your post. I think it was my first model ever, and sadly it is long gone in a landfill somewhere. Please post pics when you’re done with it. I gotta see that white gorilla.

There are actually 4 in total. The Gorilla, Alligator, him taking down a jailcell wall with his feet, and one with a motorcycle.

Yes! The motorcycle one is another good one. Might need to track down all of these. 😉

That model look great. Can’t wait to see the finished product. I have a couple of those giant insect models that I want to build and paint.

Those models are awesome. Remember when Steve had to fight Big Foot? And then of course make friends. I saw an episode last week where Steve had to finish chopping down a tree with his bionic hand. The show went on to Steve on a log rolling competition towhich his bionic legs wound up about a minutes worth of spinning only to produce his foe falling off in a typical manor. Just priceless.

I remember building the kit of him busting through the door.
It was cool because he had little hooks on the bottom of his feet that hung him from the door. So I would have him “run” at the door and hook him to it.
    Great fun!
