In my last post I talked abit about this weekend’s Big Flea, and now I’ll show you the items that found their way home with me…
I was happy to find a Batman pinback from 1966 that I didn’t already have and that paper handgun is an old advertising popper. You flip it forward rapidly and it makes a loud “Bang” sound. of course, if I did it today, the paper would tear in half, so you’ll have to trust me. I paid $3.00 for that, then went around to the next aisle and saw the same thing being sold for $38.00! I think it’s probably worth $3.00.
Henry Karp always brings amazing movie posters, and I have enjoy chatting with him about posters and the collector’s market. He has read some of my past Big Flea recaps and to thank me for sending some customers his way, he blew my mind by bringing me a present. He and his business partner, John Hawkinson, gave me a rock poster of my namesake from the north, Bryan Adams. (Thanks again, Henry, that was an incredibly nice gesture!)
That Superman squeak toy is already being eyed by my overly-hyper miniature pinscher, so I’ll have to keep him safe on a shelf. I love finding items like that — it looks pretty silly sitting on a table filled with other items, but when I put it on my shelf with other vintage Superman toys, it just looks awesome!
I picked up some fun vintage plastic Marx figures — an astronaut and a cowboy — for $5.00 each, and a bag full of small Galaxy Laser Team figures for $2.00, which I thought was a great deal.
I passed on this Buck Rogers paint set at the last Big Flea, but luckily, Brent brought it again to this show, and I couldn’t pass it up again. I’m surprised he hadn’t sold it yet. I can’t be the only person who collects Buck Rogers items, can I? [crickets.]
I’m not purposefully an action figure collector, but I seem to have quite a few for some reason. This vintage Battlestar Galactica Ovion figure was a fun find for $15.00.
And because there is absolutely nothing funnier than chimpanzees in clothes, I snagged these postcards:
I had a great time, as always, and am already looking forward to the next Big Flea in July. Anyone else find anything cool for your collection this weekend?

I agree about chimps. Love when they think they are people 😛
Great finds.

I was raised on Lancelot Link. That might explain a few things.

Nice stuff! I like the Carded action figure, very neat. Buck Rogers is a fun show, been watching some on Netflix. And you can never pass up monkeys in clothes!!!!
Brian says
Nope. never.

Even more from the Big Flea? Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Great finds. I actually had the Ovion figure from Battlestar when I was a kid. I used it as a generic monster whenever I played. However, I had NO IDEA that it was from Galactica. Wow, so cool to see it carded now.
Thanks for that nostalgic moment. 🙂

I’m always happy to deliver the nostalgia!
