King Kong’s World Tour begins on the hallowed grounds of the Manassas Battlefield, home to one of the fiercest battles of the American Civil War. The Manassas Battlefield is just a few miles from my house and is a great place to take a hike or have a picnic.
“There stands Jackson like a stone wall.”
Kong enjoyed the old stone bridge that spans Bull Run, but we spent hours plucking ticks off him after he rolled around in the tall grass.
This is the time of year when Washington. DC’s famous cherry blossoms are in full bloom along the tidal basin. Only an idiot (or a tourist) would brave the traffic and crowds to get downtown this week, but the cherry trees in our backyard are just as pretty.
It was fun having Kong for a visit, but he’s already thumbed a ride north to his next destination. Where will it be? Find out…
Want King Kong to come visit you? Here are the details on how to sign up!
