This week’s topic for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers seems pretty simple, but man, it took me way too long to come up with a response. The question is ‘Would you rather…” which I thought would be easy enough, but here it is late on Sunday night and I feel like I’m phoning it in. I wanted to come up with a really thought-provoking question that related to collecting somehow, but after much deliberation, here’s what I came up with…
Would you rather buy a rare holy grail in excellent condition, or ten premium items in good condition?
For example, would you rather buy a vinyl caped Jawa on a pristine card or, for the same price, purchase ten of the original Star Wars figures on cards with creases and bends, nothing too serious, but clearly not mint? Or maybe it’s a minty-fresh Snake Eyes action figure versus ten of the original 1982 G.I. Joe figures on beat up cards? Or a near mint X-Men #94 versus fine copies of issues #95-104?
For me, I think I would go for the quantity over the quality but it’s a tough call. If I had mediocre examples of the items, I could always look for better ones and trade up, but the decision would probably haunt me forever!

I’d take the pristine grail item for sure 😉

I was originally going to post something in the vein of “Betty of Veronica” with questions like Ginger or Mary Ann, Gwen Stacy or Mary Jane, etc.
Unfortunately real life got in the way. Thankfully, this week looks to fair better.
