Morris Everett Jr. is my new hero. He has spent the last 53 years amassing the world’s largest collection of movie posters and lobby cards, and now he has decided to sell it as ONE LOT. That’s right, he’s not piecing this out into 196,000 lots, he wants a single buyer to purchase the collection and continue to add to it. Now that’s a collector!
Check out this video which shines the spotlight on some of the highlights of the collection.
I hope the Academy of Motion Pictures or a similar institution purchases this collection and makes it available for the rest of us to enjoy.
Profiles in History will be auctioning this collection on June 15, 2015, so there’s still plenty of time to place your bid!

That is an amazing collection, and it would be great if it was purchased by someone who shared that kind of love for movie posters and lobby cards – Espeically if it were someone who was going to continue the collection. I’ve often times wanted to do the same thing with my Star Wars video collection – I.E. find someone who will not only care for it, but continue to collect the future releases and add to it.

OMG, Vintage movie posters!! Does anyone think that would be great to have Vintage versions of the movie posters that came out since 1990?
Nicola says
Do you know if the collection sold and for how much? 🙂

I had the date wrong in the original post, but it is now corrected. The auction is set to begin in June 2015.

Ahhhh right, I thought it was strange not hearing if it sold or not. Thanks for replying 🙂
