I could be rich! (Shakes fists at the sky.)
Video games have been collectible for a while, but now things are gettin’ real. Games are commanding big bucks at auction these days, and not just those ultra rare, mythical unicorns. The games that we all had and played are selling for hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.
This copy of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out, up for auction at Heritage Auctions, is just one current example. This is a game that was in everybody’s home back in 1988, and we all did our best to beat the likes of Glass Joe and King Hippo. If you owned a Nintendo, you probably owned Punch-Out. It was not hard to find in the late 80’s, but finding a copy in a clean, crisp box today, is most definitely a rare event.
Seeing these games sell for so much money, was inevitable I guess. I just wish I had seen it back in the 80’s.

Yeah – shoulda, woulda, coulda, but hey. We had fun.

Amazingly I still have a number of these in boxes still from my youth, including Mike Tyson Punch-Out.

You’re rich, Cody!
