Yesterday, I made the trek up to Timonium, MD for the bi-annual toy show put on by Dave Hart Shows. This is really the only real “toy show” in the DC-metro area, even though this is more a Baltimore show than DC, but we’ll take what we can get. This show had over 80 vendors with well-stocked tables and wide aisles that made for easy browsing. The prices were great and everyone I talked with seemed genuinely happy to be there — no surly sellers here! Most of the items were low- to mid-dollar range, but the Shogun Warriors Rodan was pretty exciting to see.
Despite all the great toys from the 80’s and 90’s on display, i managed to stick to my vintage super hero focus and came home with a pretty good haul. I have avoided collecting those super hero Pepsi glasses so far, but the prices on these was so low, I could not leave them behind. I could almost flip that Green Lantern glass for the amount I paid for the whole lot, including the two records. Like I said, there were deals to be found at this show! The Superman puzzle is a tough one to find and the radio was the last one I needed to complete the super hero set.
Okay, i didn’t stick entirely to Super Heroes, but plastic spacemen are always on my radar when I’m out in the wild, and I was happy to add this batch to my collection.
I snatched up these mini cereal premium spacemen as soon as I saw them, since they are modeled after the larger Archer figures that make up the bulk of my collection. These things made the trip worthwhile all by themselves, and the rest was gravy.
Anyone else make it to the show? What’d you find?

Great haul. I had the parachute Batman and small static Robin figure back when I was a kid.

I can only imagine what kind of team-up Aquaman and the Flash would be involved in…

Aw man! I was going to go, but ended up working on a honey-do list instead. Maybe next time.

It’s worth the trip — lots of plastic army men for you. 😉

Sorry I did not get to the show as promise
My wife and I were under the weather on Sunday
How was the crowd?
the 35mm space man hands on hips are Lido cereal premiums done for Post Raisin Brain. You can see the others at Toy Soldier Headquarters site.
Blue Archer figure is the Glencoe version. they got the original Archer mold

Hey Stad, sorry you couldn’t make it. The crowd seemed to be fairly light, but that might just be because there was so much space to move around — for buyers like me, it was great! I found your friend, Gerry, and actually got those cereal premiums from him.

Gerry is a great guy. I have gotten many items for my collection and resale from him. You never know what you will find from Gerry. His buddy Chris is another great guy with loads of action figure items. We are planning doing the show in July . This we might do the Sunday as my wife might have to work.

Great finds! Why aren’t there any places like this around me? 🙁
