Okay, I admit that the letter “V” had me stumped. Sure, I could have gone with something like “villains” or “vintage,” but those topics were too broad for my headache-challenged brain today, so I looked around the cave and found this…
The Battlestar Galactica Viper Launch Station toy from Mattel! Isn’t this just the greatest box art you’ve ever seen? It really makes me wish I had the actual toy.
Yep, that’s right, I bought an empty box — and this wasn’t the first (or last) empty box I will ever buy. You see, I play the long game when it comes to collecting — I’ll buy an empty box with the thought that some day I will find the actual toy, probably for a much lower cost than it would be if it had its original box (which I just happen to have!). I’d buy a robot toy with a missing left arm for a song, and then spend the next ten years looking for a similar broken robot toy, with the left arm present. I’m not in any rush. I have faith that the Viper Launch Station toy will find its way to me someday, and I have just the place to put it!
The end is in sight for the Blogging from A-to-Z Challenge, and I am almost even keeping up!

I had that one as a kid and loved it. For such a simple toy I got a ton of enjoyment out of it.

What a cool set. Like you said, great artwork. And the toy itself could pass as a nice playset. I remember the foam vipers that came with it. Very cool.
