Free Comic Book Day is on Saturday, so what better topic for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers to discuss than…
—
Comic books.
—
INCENTIVE! I will send a small selection of horrible comic books to one League member who contributes this week. The winner will be my personal favorite–not a random selection. (It’s my blog and I’ll do what I like!)
The League is always open to new members! Got a blog? Write a post in response to the weekly challenge, and you’ll be included. It’s that easy!
REMEMBER!:
Once you put up a post on your site add a comment below with the URL. Next Monday, I will put up a post here on Cool & Collected with a list of all the contributing blogs. Once that list is posted, if you haven’t already done so, try to incorporate at least three of your fellow League members’ links (but more would be great!) into the article you wrote on your site.
By cross-posting like this, we will help each other out by sending new readers to each other’s sites. Have fun!
(Wondering what the heck this is all about? We’re recruiting for this loose-knit, rag tag crew! Here are the details for contributing to The League.)

Since I posted this on Saturday, I’m cheating and editing slightly to make it a League post for this week: http://toyriffic.blogspot.com/2013/04/plastic-fantastic.html

Giddy up! Those early years of comics were so special to me.

That’s it? “Comic Books”? I could write volumes on this subject. Probably won’t be posting mine till Friday. Too many ideas swelling in my mind right now. Oy!
LasVegasYankee says
Ok, finally finished. A little upset I couldn’t find the box with the book and signed comics. Still haven’t unpacked everything and I’ve been in my house for 18 months. Really need to get on that.

Dan, our site has been undergoing some serious issues this past week after being hit (again) with the pharma hack. It sounds like you might be having a caching issue since you can obviously see this page, just not all the other comments. This might be solved with a simple reload of the page, or by emptying your cache and then visiting again.
If anyone else is having issues, please let me know as I’m trying to get all these problems fixed. Thanks.

I’ve been looking to contribute to these Cool and Collected posts for a while without cutting into my blog’s purpose of promoting my own comics style artwork. Talking about my history with comics seems like a great place to start! Its a bit clunky and off the cuff, but I’m grateful for this opportunity.

This isn’t my submission for this week, but since today’s May Day and this is a comics theme, you guys might enjoy it. Will drop my official submit in short order.
