Cool and Collected

Collecting pop culture toys, comics, and collectibles collections

November 15, 2016 By Brian 9 Comments

This is the show you’ve been looking for: Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest

There have been a lot of shows for collectors, some good, some not so much. The latest offering is from Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. Pop Culture Quest just released its first episode and it is FANTASTIC! This is exactly the kind of show I have been waiting for — a show by passionate collectors talking about pop culture collectibles — there is no pandering here, or fake knowledge (or lack thereof). Mark Hamill is the perfect host for this show and his inner fanboyism is infectious.

Shows like this could go a long way towards legitimizing our obsessions with the outside world. If mega stars such as Mark Hamill are passionate about these items, maybe it’s not so strange that we have old cereal boxes and broken toys on our own shelves. Seriously, drop what you’re doing and watch this show now!

Always knew Leonardo Dicaprio was an action figure collector.

When you have more money than God and can literally buy anything under the sun, you must be a true fan if you’re buying action figures. 😉

I think these are only going to be available through the new ComicCon TV web site, which is a paid subscription service. It’s a new service, so it might end up failing, but time will tell. I’m hopeful that these will find their way to a free venue at some point.

That’s the sad thing. I like the show but not enough to pay for a channel to see it.

Yeah, I’m with you. There aren’t many things I would pay to watch online, especially as a subscription service, and if there was ever a “target audience” for this show, well that would be me. Maybe they will release the series on DVD or as a season pass.

We should all go in on an subscription, and share the user name / password.
