Some highlight’s from this weekend’s Lego BrickFair

The Lego BrickFair returns to the Dulles Expo Center this weekend in Chantilly, Virginia. As usual, the creativity on display is mind-blowing. Here are a few of the many highlights…

There seemed to be more vendors than ever before at this year’s show, which is a good thing as long as they don’t crowd out the creators.

That’s a lot of Clone Troopers.

I’m a sucker for a good Lego castle, and this one was filled with Easter eggs to find.

Who let this guy in?

Seeing this Red Comet Gundam made me want to go home and make a Pacific Rim robot.

The small scale Lego cities are always impressive.

These creatures were amazing — so different from just about everything else at the show.

when you stare at the massive displays long enough, you are rewarded with spotting little vignettes like this baseball game.

If you need to fill in a gap in your Lego Minifig collection, this is the place to do it.

This throwback space themed display was awesome. I’m sure Benny is in there somewhere.

I can just picture Will Ferrel walking amongst this city display with a tube of Krazy Glue in hand.

if you’re anywhere near DC this weekend, you should definitely check out the BrickFair. I’m pretty sure I’ll be going back at least once — maybe twice — it’s so much fun!

Wow, that looks great, I wish we got something like that here, we’ll get some small displays at local Conventions, that and the Lego Store, but playing “Where’s Waldo” in the displays as most builders hide some pretty great things in them.

My kids were thrilled to find Emmet from the Lego Movie in a lot of different displays at the show. I especially liked seeing him in the middle of a massive Medieval battle scene.

Wow, there was some seriously impressive work there. Love that castle and those three differently-styled animals (two dragons and a unicorn, I think?) in particular, but it looks like it was just about wall-to-wall brilliant.

Amazing. Wish there was something like this on the West Coast. Would have loved to get some mini-figs. Amazing. Any more pictures?

You know those ‘creatures’ are Pokemon right? they’re Arcanine and Rapidash 🙂 and I would love to see this, actually this is quiet fitting – we’ve just booked in a trip to Legoland 😀

I figured they were probably Pokemon but that red guy in the lower left corner threw me off. He reminds me of the dragon in Mulan, but what do I know. 😉
