Relax, put the pencil down, I’m not really going to quiz you — though I did think about it. No, today’s challenge set me off on a Quixotic quest for a topic beginning with “Q,” the next letter in the Blogging from A-to-Z Challenge. This was no easy task, but eventually I stumbled across this beauty…
The Batman Electronic Question and Answer Quizz Machine — the extra Z is for ZAP! No? Zany? I don’t know, just roll with it.
Batman and the Boy Wonder swoop in to save the day! The large orange moon artwork on this box was also used on an LP and other Batman items released in the 60’s. The Batman logo seen here is probably my favorite iteration of the many, many logo designs seen through the years. I love to collect vintage Batman boxed games, puzzles, and toys, and this one absolutely has the best looking game board…
There’s not just one, but a whole stack of game cards inside…
This game asks you to match up items from the left side of the page with those in the right side, using a pair of metal electrodes. If you get it right, you complete the circuit and lights flash, confetti cannons go off, and a new car is delivered to your doorstep — or something like that. This game pretty much sums up everything I like about vintage super hero toys, and it just makes me want to sit down and play a few rounds with the kids.
Whew! I managed to come up with a topic for today. “Q” had me sweating for a good long while. “R” is up next — that shouldn’t be too difficult, right???
Holy quizzes! That is a seriously cool piece of vintage awesomeness!
Awesome vintage piece! Pray tell how much did you snag this for Brian? The art reminds me of something that I currently hang on my living room wall….superb vintage Batman graphics!
I actually got this game for a steal last October off eBay, paying just $23.50 for it. Every now and then you get lucky, you just have to work really hard at it. 😉
That is too freakin’ cool! I’ve never seen one of these
