Mondo’s Conquest of the Planet of the Apes poster by Phantom City Creative

The other day I showed off Mondo’s Beneath the Planet of the Apes poster, and now, for your viewing enjoyment is the other POTA poster I was able to score…

It’s hard for me to express exactly how excited I was to see the Planet of the Apes poster series when Mondo announced them. All six of the posters are amazing, but this Conquest of the Planet of the Apes poster by Phantom City Creative was my instant favorite. The stark design and colors hit the nail squarely on the head. I missed out on being able to buy the set on the day of release, but pounced on the first one of these available on eBay from the scalpers. I’m not proud, but I REALLY wanted this poster, and I have no regrets. This is already framed and hanging in the spot of honor in my cave, where I stare directly at it whenever I’m in there watching a movie.

Apes with shotguns. Our days are numbered.

The revolt has begun. Indeed.

This little scene perfectly sums up the brutality in this movie.

Every time I get a Mondo poster, I am floored by how vibrant and sharp the images are in person. The red and black tones in this poster are reminiscent of a Russian propaganda poster and do the film justice–something that is not as easy to do. Just look at the majority of movie posters produced today, and you will see that the Mondo crew has a pretty good idea on how to sell a movie. Hollywood would do well to take note of what’s going on down there in Texas.
