I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Laurent Durieux is a god. Check out his latest work, due to go on sale today at Mondo…

I haven’t had much luck with Mondo drops lately, but I’ll be refreshing my browser like a madman today, trying to score one of the Back to the Future I prints. Laurent Durieux has done it again!

Kudos to Mondo artists for garnering the prices they do for their work, but I personally don’t see the draw to a lot of their work. If I had never seen a Back to the Future movie, these posters wouldn’t entice me to do so.
Maybe I’m missing the point, and these are supposed to just grab people for nostalgia sake, but even then, these two posters are rather….Well…Boring.

It’s not the job of these posters to promote the movies, they are purely a nostalgia play. They are art — some will appeal to you, some won’t. There have been plenty of Mondo posters that I don’t like, but I’m a big fan of Durieux’s style. It’s so detailed and well thought out, and the prints really look amazing in person. These web images never do justice to the real screen-printed images.

DROOOOOOOOOL
I’ve seen these somewhere before, but they are gorgeous. I love how it subtly invokes the titles of the movie. Why isn’t there one for Part III? That sort of annoys me that they would leave out 1 movie in a trilogy.
Brian says
Good question. The last BTTF prints they did had one from each of the three movies.

Love these posters! I was just the under bidder on the Super Powers poster. I’ll get em next time!
