I had the pleasure of attending the LEGO Brickfair once again this past weekend as it returned to the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Virginia. The displays were just as mind-blowing as in previous shows, and it seemed like the number of vendors selling LEGO goods was bigger than ever before — I’m not sure yet if that’s a good or a bad thing though. By the time the 2016 comes around, the Expo Center will have completed its expansion, and there will be even more room for exhibits.
I always love the pop culture themed creations. Star Wars is always well-represented, but there were also plenty of super heroes, and video game franchises on display. Here are a some photos of my favorites from the show…

Definitely liking the Endor Dioramas from Return of the Jedi. Wonder how many hours are involved in putting that all together.

Yeah, that Endor set up was probably my favorite table at the show. The massive displays with a bit of humor tucked in ever nook and cranny are always fun to see. The racetrack scene was another good one. Pictures really don’t do any of these creations justice — I’m very fortunate to have been able to see them up close and find some of the hidden Easter eggs.

Darn it! Darn it! Darn it! At first, my daughter really wanted to go so we were all set. Then she changed her mind. I talked myself out of going by myself. Bad move. The Aliens diorama is awesome – as well as Star Wasr Endor and Kashyyk. How were the lines? Last two times I went, the lines were out of control. Took forever to get in.
Brian says
First bit of advice: Get a press pass and go on Friday evening when there are NO crowds.
Second bit of advice: Go late afternoon on Sunday. There were no lines and we could move around without tripping over ourselves and others.

Thanks. Good to know. I was wondering about Sunday afternoon. It was pretty packed a few years back even on Sunday but sounds like things have gotten better. I’ve been twice and it is a great event. Very impressive. Thanks Brian!

We also have Lego Fairs here by us in South Africa, and I can see a lot of similar builds …. can see were the ideas come from!
