There are some amazing pieces of art up for bid in next month’s Signature Auction at Heritage. Sure, there’s a huge selection of original Disney drawings and animation cels, but this right here is what caught my eye…
This image sums up a good bit of my childhood that was spent lying on the carpet watching Saturday morning cartoons. This is a hand painted title screen from the Super Friends Hour, featuring the five most iconic DC heroes, alongside three other characters (whatever happened to those Wonder Twins anyway?) This original animation cel’s bid price is currently $850 but that amount is sure to go much higher before the auction ends on June 11. How amazing would this look hanging on your living room wall?
Here’s another great piece of art up for bid that shows an iconic scene from the 1978 read along and record book, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! “You blockhead! You’ve kept me up all night waiting for the Great Pumpkin and all that came was a beagle!”
There’s also some amazing original Chuck Jones art from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Here’s a video with some of the highlights…
Heritage’s Animation Art Signature Auction catalog is available for viewing now, and bidding starts to wrap up on June 11. Good luck!
