Thanksgiving is just a few days away, and I have plenty to be thankful for this year — a roof over my head, loving family, good job — you get the gist, but I think this is a more appropriate place to write about things I’m grateful for in regards to Cool & Collected.
The other day, I posted a list of all the people who put their money forward to help me produce the first issue of the Cool & Collected Magazine. I can’t tell you how good it felt to see that many people supporting me in this venture — both people I know and many that I don’t. Whether you chose to support me and my dream, or if you just wanted a magazine to read, you have my sincere gratitude and I hope that when you see the magazine, you are as excited about it as I am.
I really can’t say enough about the online community that we have going here. If I have a question about a certain item, I usually know who to ask, but if I don’t, I know that I can post it on the site or Facebook, and someone will usually step forward with the answer. This is such a powerful tool we have at our fingertips, and I am thankful for it every day.
Being able to virtually connect with folks far and wide has made the act of collecting a much more fun endeavor than it has ever been before, and I am a firm believer that when we combine our efforts and support one another rather than tearing each other down, the end result is pretty great. I am thankful for each and every one of you who has been a part of the League, and tweeted, retweeted, and commented on a your fellow members’ sites. One little comment can snowball into a long-lasting friendship — you never know!
I’m not sure what’s around the next corner but I am grateful to know that all of you are out there somewhere. Happy Thanksgiving!

Other League members are plenty thankful too! Check out AEIOU and Sometimes Why, G.I. Jigsaw, D.I. Treasures, Primordial Badger’s Media Hoard, Retro Robot Review, and the Nerd Nook.

My hometown had a big storm on Monday that left hundreds of people without power. I’m very thankful for electricity, I’ll tell you that much!

The collector community is absolutely a great one. It is one of the primary reasons I started my blog and associated accounts. There are a lot of good people who count themselves in this group and I feel fortunate knowing many of them even if it is not on a face to face basis.
Now I feel bummed I couldn’t write an entry for this week! All those darn responsibilities.

Life does have a way of getting in the way sometimes, doesn’t it? Happy Thanksgiving, Cody — I know you have a little something to be thankful of this year! 😉
