While sifting through an old shoebox full of photos the other day, I came across this photo from around 1994. These Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were standing guard in the Words and Pictures Museum of Fine and Sequential Art (comic books) in Northhampton, Massachusetts. While on vacation in the Berkshires, I remember being so excited to learn that there was a museum filled with original comic book art nearby, and I dragged my wife to go see it with me. The museum was founded by Kevin Eastman, but sadly, it hit financial difficulties and closed in 1999. I wonder what happened to those turtles.

I count myself as lucky to have visited this museum before it closed. The artwork was amazing and from all genres. I don’t know what happened to the turtles, but you can still see the turtle “gargoyles” on the outside of the building!
