Cool and Collected

Collecting pop culture toys, comics, and collectibles collections

Yesterday, I reclaimed my childhood…again

vintage toy haul

Yesterday, I went out and bought another car load of toys. As soon as I clear out a few boxes, it seems like I always find another stash to take their place.

Yesterday’s haul came from a friend of a friend who was moving and was looking to unload a bunch of toys from his childhood. It turns out this guy was close to my age, so his childhood toys were eerily similar to the ones I had as a kid. It was fun to open the boxes and see some old friends. There was a ton of Fisher Price toys from the early 70’s, but there were also some recent toys…

Somebody please buy these things. They creep me out!

muscles figures

One of my favorite things about buying toys in bulk, is what you find at the bottom of the boxes. I’m going to hold onto these M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. And who knew that Magnum PI had toys? Not me!

gi joe vehicles

There several GI Joe vehicles in the lot.

vintage kenner star wars collection

The main attractions were all the random Star Wars toys.

kenner star wars millenium falcon

This Millenium Falcon is in great shape…

…it even has the Jedi training ball!

kenner star wars at-st walker scout

This AT-ST is one of my favorite items. This thing looks so cool on the shelf!

kenner boba fett slave ship

Boba Fett’s ship is still as awesome as I remember it.

vintage kenner star wars micro machines

There are a bunch of the micro machines and even the Dagobah playset.

vintage star wars hoth playset

And a couple more playsets. Hey look, there’s a Starcom vehicle, too!

collection of vintage star wars action figures

Of course, this is what really got me excited. A whole bunch of vintage Star Wars figures and a carrying case, along with some recent loose and MOC figures.

I’ll hold onto those vintage figures and case for a while, but I plan to sell off just about everything else on eBay or through my eCrater store. As always, if you see something you’d like, drop me an email and let’s make a deal.

It certainly is for sale! I’ve had great luck selling vintage Fisher Price items on ebay — I never knew how collectible that stuff was! Tommy, if you’re interested, let me know and I can send you some pictures.

I think that Magnum PI police car is a Kidco Burning Key Car. It’s stamped 1980 and the spring is still strong–that car shoots off like a gun. It would surely be banned today. 😉

Great Crow figure, and still in the box too. I always hope to come across a score like this, but mainly just find old happy Meal toys. Rummage/bag slae season is starting soon in the NJ area, so fingers crossed.

I’m interested in the die cast Star Wars pieces. The Ewok village and Hoth playsets and the Xwing. I would also be interested in the Mcdonalds and Little People stuff but someone beat me to the punch 😛 If that falls through let me know.

FYI That Falcon is pristine and same with the GI Joe Stun. Be very careful with the flags on the Stun as that is what will break off and ruin the value of it. I think you will get some good $ for those two pieces on eBay.

Hey Russ, the Little People castle has been claimed but the other items are still available. Tonight, I’ll take some better pictures of the ones you mentioned and shoot you an email, and we can work out a deal.

That’s an incredible haul Brian! Can you hold onto that Silent Bob in the second picture for me? If so, maybe we can make it part of the trade for the Pokemon cards we spoke about. I will e-mail you tonight to work out the details. Those M.U.S.C.L.E. men are awesome as well!

Correction. In all the excitement I wrote Ewok village rather than Dagobah playset. I know better!
