The yard sales are finally starting to pick back up around here. This weekend there were a few advertised “community yard sales” but those communities were a bit anemic. We probably visited a half dozen sales, and here’s how I spent $9…
I found a small stack of Lego instruction booklets (sadly, no Legos included) for 50 cents, and a few random Batman, Superman, and Ben 10 action figures for two dollars.
It never ceases to amaze me how much Toy Story merchandise is out there at the sales (Hey look, it’s Woody!). I also keep finding random Bakugans in the bottoms of toy boxes.
I tend to collect “icons” of pop culture, and you don’t get more iconic than MJ’s Thriller. Two bucks.
Guess how I spent Sunday afternoon — watching football while trying to piece together these random Transformers parts. I ended up with four complete figures and a bunch of leftover pieces. Not bad for $3. If someone can point me to a photo of that lime green excavator, I’d be much obliged.
I’m no huge fan of Transformers, but this Optimus Prime figure is pretty great. It may take me a half hour to transform these things but they are actually pretty good stress relievers. This big guy was a steal for a dollar.
So, what did you find this weekend? Let’s hear it!
