Would you like some cadmium with that order, sir?

McDonalds recalled all those “Shrek Forever After 3D” drinking glasses due to the fact that they contain high levels of cadmium, which can cause “adverse health effects” according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Translation: your kids will die a slow and horrible death if they drink from that Donkey glass all day, every day, for the rest of their childhood.

I’m sure that the glasses we drank from as kids were filled with cadmium, lead, cyanide and all sorts of low grade radiation but we made it through just fine. Suck it up junior, a little cadmium won’t hurt. (I kid.)

McDonalds has recalled all the glasses, though it was several weeks after they were introduced, and seven million of them were put in circulation. EBay has pulled all the listings for these glasses since it violates their terms of use to sell unsafe or recalled products. I figure these glasses will be collectible but if you can’t buy them or sell them on eBay, it’s going to make their marketability a bit difficult. What do you think? Are there other collectibles out there that are “dangerous?”
