Collecting pop culture toys, comics, and collectibles collections

Weekend Toy haul – She-Ra? Yep. She-Ra.

Hey, look what I got off Craigslist today! It’s a massive lot of 80’s She-Ra toys!

She-Ra really is on the fringe of what I would normally buy, since she is a part of the Masters of the Universe line, but I can’t say I didn’t feel a little silly handing over the cash for a huge box of pink plastic playsets and dolls, and then proceeding to spend the afternoon matching up hair combs and skirts with their appropriate figure (but I did so while watching football, so they even each other out, right?).

Anyway, here’s what was in the (very large) box…

collection of vintage she-ra action figures (He-Man Masters of the Universe-MOTU)

She-Ra Action Figures. Girls must have taken much better care of their toys than I did, because these figures really look like they’re brand new, despite being 26+ years old. Many of the accessories are included. And there’s Bow, the only male figure in She-Ra’s toy world, AKA: the luckiest man alive!

she-ra - crystal castle (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Crystal Castle. This thing is beautiful…AND HUGE!

she-ra - crystal castle (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Back view.

she-ra - crystal castle (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Like He-Man’s Castle Grayskull, this castle is hinged to reveal a two-level playset. Many, if not all, of the accessories are included and in great shape. The table has a map of Etheria on the top!

she-ra - Crystal Falls (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Crystal Falls. This thing is also pretty large, but it folds up to conserve space. I’m not sure if that clam shell on the left goes with this or not, but it looked like it should.

she-ra - Sea Harp (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Sea Harp. I’m not sure if the slider is supposed to play beautiful music or not, but this one seems fairly flat.

she-ra - Butterflyer (He-Man, Masters of the Universe MOTU)

Butterflyer. This was the only piece that was broken in the whole lot. It’s probably best used as parts for a restoration. One of the wings is cracked and the connecting knob is broken off on one side, and is now floating around inside the figure.

she-ra - flying horse steed

Flying horse. I’m not convinced that this is a She-Ra steed since it is really big, but it was in the box, so I’ll include it.

she-ra action figure accessories

These random accessories were left over after I matched up the other items with the figures. Your guess is as good as mine as to where these go.

I bought these because i knew I could find a good home for them, so If you are interested in She-Ra toys, this would be a pretty amazing addition to your collection, or a great start to a new collection! You can have everything you see in the pictures above, so hit me up by email if you want it. I’m asking $150.00 OBO, and if I don’t get any offers here, I’ll be putting it up on eBay.

UPDATE: All of these items have been sold.

I think you would make your daughter very happy if you bought this She-Ra collection for Christmas. 😉

Yay, something I can geek out about because I actually collected them in my first childhood, not my second! The figure in the top middle is a Golden Girl figure (Galoob’s answer to Princess of Power). I believe it’s the main villainess, the Dragon Queen. I got rid of mine in my foolish teen years, but I have replaced most of them (I hit a collection where most of the figures were complete). For the most part they look complete except Glimmer (the purple-haired girl with the rose staff). She has a crown/headband thingy that is almost always missing because it’s tiny. Fun fact: her crown and staff glowed in the dark, which made her my favorite back in the day.

I’m jealous of your find, especially the Crystal Castle. It looks like if it’s not 100% complete, it’s pretty darn close.

Thanks Stacey! I was wondering about that figure in black and red since she didn’t show up on the She-Ra sites I researched exhaustively this weekend. 😉

If you want to add that castle to your collection, I’d be happy to break up the set for a friend of the site!

Score for sure. I sold maybe 1/2 that amount of stuff for a great amount of money.

Was cleaning out my girls cupboards today and wondering if anyone still knows who she-ra was. I have the castle and a box full of dolls, horses and pieces. I loved it as a kid and have never been able to get rid of them.

She-Ra issill quite popular. If you ever do decide to part with your items, you could get a nice return on eBay. I ended up selling just those figures for over $100, and the castles and playsets for another $100+.

Years after the find, but anyway. The horse is Galaxy the Flower Princess horse. Still collectible though.
