Transformers Commercials from the 1980’s to today

Do they even make jingles any more? “Transformers… more than meets the eye… Transformers… robots in disguise… More than meets the eye.” Now try to keep that out of your head for the rest of the day.

Here’s the full song:

The Transformers! More than meets the eye!
Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons!
The Transformers! Robots in disguise!
The Transformers! More than meets the eye!
The Transformers!

I miss rugby shirts. And those kids… freeeeeaky.

Now compare those original commercials with this batch from 1989-90 and it’s easy to see why the early 80’s were awesome.

The stop motion animation used around the 6:00 minute mark makes me think of “Bob the Builder,” and there are no more creepy kids, unless you think preppy is creepy.

And today, we have this… sigh.

The new ad reminds me of wrestling or boxing promos.

The jingles for the later 1980s ones… Terrible…

Ha! That voiceover guy always reminds me of monster truck rallies!

As far as great toy commercials, I’ve always been partial to the GI Joe commercials from the 1990s which featured live action Duke, Destro, & Snake Eyes.

I remember those commercials! Destro creeped me out. Consider a new post in the works now. 😉

Those GI Joe commercials walk a fine line between awesome and creepy.
