The Big Toy Auction goes Back to the 80’s!

mummra's tomb Thundercats playset

On June 12, the Big Toy Auction returns with their best auction yet. The theme this time is “Back to the 80’s” and it’s filled with vintage He-Man, Thundercats, Transformers, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys among other things. There are some really amazing items up for bid, so mark your calendars and follow The Big Toy Auction on Twitter for reminders.

WARNING: I plan to bid heavily in this auction, so outta my way!

Another exciting bit of news is that The Big Toy Auction will be at next weekend’s Mego Meet in Wheeling, WV and will host their custom Mego figure auction. If Mego is your thing, be sure to tune into the live auction and if you get something cool, I want to hear about it!

There’s some great stuff on this one! I placed a bunch of bids (stayed away from the Thundercats stuff because I suspect you want all that) I am most interested in Scorpinok and a few of the MOTU items.

Ha! Don’t stay away on my behalf. I haven’t decided yet where my money’s going to go. I think I’m going to wait until the live auction and try to grab some bargains.

I made out like a bandit on this one again. These proxibid auctions are great! How did you hear about them initially? I won the auctions for a bunch of MOTU stuff and the big Transformers (Scorponok, Fortress Maximus, Trypticon) my only disappointment was that I missed out on the Eternia playset pieces by a couple of bucks. I also went to a few lawn sales this weekend and did pretty good. I’ll take pics when I get a sec.

I know you made out! I participated in the live auction and kept seeing your name come up as the winner. I was sooo tempted by that Eternia set, but didn’t like the way it was broken up into multiple lots. I think it ended up selling in pieces to four different people.

I got a bunch of things (and paid too much), but the Mummra’s Tomb was the most exciting item for me. I hate to think what your shipping charge is going to be! Send me a pic when it all arrives!

I don’t think the shipping will be too bad really. Yeah it’s a lot of stuff but it’s mostly small. How did you learn about this site? Thanks for sharing it!

I think I learned about the Big Toy Auction originally through a Google alert I had set up for the keywords “toy auction.” Most of the results I get are for farm toy auctions, but every now and then a good one like this comes up.

I bought my Dad a Marx farm set from the 50’s last year for Christmas. It even had the original box 🙂

Lots of things went on the cheap side if you ask me. Is Bigtoyauction.com not advertised very well? Although i like to get good stuff for cheap i would also like to see some rarer items come up on that site. I was contemplating buying the Fort Max but passed at the last moment. The Scorponok looks like it’s in good shape but the one thing your missing that is going to be tough is Lord Zarak unless you have it already of course.

I think they’re going to have another one ina couple of weeks. The best thing to do is to follow them on Twitter and Facebook and then you won’t miss out.

There have been some great deals in all of The Big toy auctions. I was talking with the auctioneer, and he said they have some really nice rarer items coming up in some future auctions. The Big Ty Auction is fairly new, so as word gets out, I expect the prices are going to start going up.
