Not too long ago, I wrote about how one of my toy display cabinets looked after the annual rearranging process, and now the other cabinet is done. Behold!
Here are the two cabinets that stand side by side. Those items on top need some attention, but I’m happy with the way the shelves turned out.
The top shelf holds some G.I. Joe items. My collecting interests in G.I. Joe toys span from 1982-1985 — pretty much the years I remember actually playing with those things — though I will make the occasional exception for awesome things like those Mega Monsters. One of the “problems” with collecting items like these G.I. Joe vehicles is that their boxes take up a lot of space. I used to have a Night Raven and a WHALE in their boxes, but those things were huge, so they had to go. Currently, I’m on the hunt for the smaller boxed vehicles, mainly for that great artwork!
This shelf is filled with random vintage toys from the 50’s and 60’s mostly. I used big little books to prop some of the toys up so they can be visible. I love those Marx Nutty Mads!
Here are those awesome Aurora model kits I picked up not too long ago. That stack of boxes on the left has another stack behind it, and I still have a half dozen of those kits in a box somewhere.
The bottom shelf has a stack of Colorforms kits and puzzles alongside some Planet of the Apes toys (my only Mego figures) and some other stuff.

Very nice Brian! The G.I. Joe items are the ones I like most. And that 80’s shelf in the other cabinet is top-notch! Awesome!

Thanks Jason! Like I said in my last post, I’m no completist and tend to collect whatever catches my eye. It’s fun to rearrange the shelves and match things in different ways.

Great set up!Those cabinets are awesome and seem to accommodate everything nicely.

Yeah, they work well, and the glass doors save me from having to dust all that stuff! 😉

POTA Megos are in great condition. My brother and I had them and the tree house and city playsets.

I remember having the Mego Batman and Spiderman as a kid, but it took 30 years before I got my PoTA figures. 😉

Nice ecclectic mix! I wish I had some glass doors, dusting figure shelves and vehichles takes forever.
Brian says
It’s one of the best investments you can make. 😉

Looking at that shelf makes my brain go, want, want, want, got that, got that, want, want, had that, want, want, want, hmmm… what is that, want, want, want… 😉
Brian says
Ha! Thanks Reis, that is high praise coming from a fellow collector like you. 😉
