A couple of big toy auctions will be held in the coming weeks. Stanton Auctions of Hampden, Massachusetts, will offer the lifetime antique toy & collectibles collection of the late William “Bill” Creager of Lexington, KY.
Mr. Creager was an “Everyman” collector. He bought whatever interested him and if he had one of something, he was just as likely to make it a hundred. It was his wish that his collection be sold at unreserved auction and return it to the marketplace so other people could experience the joy of collecting that fueled his passion for 70 years.
The auction will be held in two sessions held Friday June 4th & Saturday June 5th at their 106 East Longmeadow Rd. Hampden, Massachusetts location. More details can be found here: http://www.stantonauctions.com/Jun04_10/cat_listing.htm
On Saturday, June 12, the Stevens Auction House in Aberdeen, Mississippi will be auctioning off the collection of Mr. Carl Gillispie, who has collected guns, firearm collectibles, knives and toys for the last 25 years. The auction preview will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Auction doors will open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010.
