The final auction of memorabilia from the official Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum collection, including numerous personal mementos will be held in New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, April 9th. The sale will be conducted by Robb Burley of the Burley Auction Gallery, an auction house renowned for high profile western auctions.

The final collection auction offers a chance for nostalgia buffs and serious collectors to own part of the history of the magical life of the “King of the Cowboys,” actor and singer Roy Rogers, and his wife Dale Evans, known as “Queen of the West.” “The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans items are directly from their museum,” said Robb Burley, owner of Burley Auction Gallery in New Braunfels. “We are very honored to offer the final pieces from the 50-year museum collection last housed in Branson, Missouri.”

The sale presented in tandem with Rio Grande Trading Company, features a life-size beautifully carved marble statue of the legendary couple valued at $10,000-$20,000, made from the very same stone as the Lincoln Memorial columns, his black felt Resistol hat from the renowned Edward H. Bohlin Shop, a pair of custom-made Double Eagle cowboy boots, a pair of engraved spurs, completely covered in silver, from the time he was making movies, and a gold and silver decorated double gun rig adorned with a diamond-shaped silver concho with his Double R brand in gold on each holster. The latter is marked by the maker, John Bianchi, known as the top gun leather craftsman in the world, and was presented to him as a personal gift by the maker himself.

There are a number of other very personal mementos including old autographed photos of performers and movie stars, jewelry owned by Dale such as gold coin earrings and pendant, business cards, anniversary gifts and Roy’s personal Nudie western suits made by the famous tailor to the stars, Nudie Cohn. Each lot from the museum will be accompanied by a signed certificate of provenance from Roy Rogers Jr who will be present during the preview and auction.
