AdAge Magazine declared the drum-playing Energizer bunny one of the top five advertising icons in the 20th century, saying:
“The Bunny has become the ultimate symbol of longevity, perseverance and determination,” says Mark Larsen, communications category manager for Energizer. During the past decade, everyone from politicians to sport stars used the Energizer Bunny to describe their staying power.
He’s right up there with the Michelin Man, the Green Giant, and the Pillsbury Doughboy. The fuzzy pink spokesbunny has been around for a while and I guess it’s time to put the original remote controlled robot out to pasture.
Heritage Auctions has one of the original Energizer bunnies up for bid in their current entertainment auction. I think if I were to buy this bunny, I’d keep the pink fur off it and run it around the house like a rabid (or is that rabbit) Terminator T2000. Check out the pictures to see the robotic innards in all their glory. Sweet goodness!
