Cue sad trombone.
Over the past month or two, I have been watching other blogs put up posts and reviews about October Toys’ awesome little OMFG figures. Like Ralphie in the Christmas Story movie, I would run to the mailbox everyday, hoping my figures were there, but sadly they never arrived.
I forgot about them until I came across a receipt for my contribution to the Kickstarter campaign. After sending an email, the fine folks at October Toys took care of me with lightning speed, and I am now the proud owner of the exclusive black figures and the flesh-toned set, along with a bunch of excellent swag.
I’m not going to do a review since just about every other site in the toy collecting world has already done so, but I will say that these figures are incredibly cool and fun, and are a great throwback to the M.U.S.C.L.E.S. figures of my youth. I applaud the crew of October Toys for bringing their dream to reality, through a ton of hard work. It’s been educational to follow the process from the initial funding stage all the way through to the final product, and it really does show that if you have a passion for something, you can do pretty much anything.

Yup, I love these figures. I’m staring at my custom painted Multiskull right now. Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that one of my submissions are accepted for the second or third series…

I got a set of the pink ones myself and i will be showing them over on the Cosmic Ark soon.

Nice! Are you going to collect all of the other colors too?

Nah, I’m actually fine with just the flesh colored ones since they are so MUSCLE-like. I might give up the black ones in a contest or something. I’m curious to see what they release in the next series though.
