Honest Abe gets a facelift. Earlier today, the U.S. Mint unveiled the four new penny designs that will start showing up in your pocket change in 2009. Next year, the Lincoln penny will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and to celebrate, the mint decided to give it a facelift, or maybe we should call it a “tail-lift,” since the “heads” side of the coin will remain the same. I’m sure the mint is hoping the new pennies have the same success with the public as the state quarter program that is coming to an end.
