Last night, at the New Beverly Cinema in California, Mondo hosted their latest Mystery Movie night, and it was pretty special. A friend of the site, Frank Onorati, sent me a message while standing in line, to tell me that the mystery movie was the classic 1931 Frankenstein and the poster for sale was the one by Drew Struzan. Now, we’ve known about this poster for a while, but to see it finally released is pretty exciting. There were 75 signed copies of the poster available to those that attended the movie. The price was just a teeny bit higher than a regular Mondo release at $285.00, but when you think about the man behind this magic, that is money well spent.
Frank was kind enough to snap a few pictures and send them over…
What a great marquee!
Mondo’s Justin Ishmael introduces Drew Struzan.
And here it is — this Frankenstein print, Drew Struzan’s first screen printed poster, uses 21 inks!
A HUGE thanks to Frank for letting me share his pictures!

The crazy thing about that night was that the announcement came so late on the day that many people missed out. Justin was initially only selling 75 for the night but I believe the final number was closer to 100. An online drop will be coming at some point but when it does drop I heard the number might be around 100 or less.

Hey Frank, thanks again for sharing your pics and experience. I love how Mondo keeps shaking things up, either intentionally or not. I don’t have much faith that I’ll be able to snag one of these posters, but you can bet I will try!

Ever any chance additional posters will become available?
Thanx!
Brian says
Not likely. Mondo released the remainder of the posters a while ago on their site. You can only get these on the secondary market now, but expect to pay over $500.
