On August 9, a great collector left us. Lester Glassner had collected pop culture and memorabilia for over 50 years and in 1981, wrote a book that featured some of his prized possessions. The publication of “Dime Store Days” led to Mr. Glassner appearing on The Today show and in other media outlets. You can more about this extreme collector on the Boston Globe’s site.
In 2001, Mr. Glassner donated almost 500 movie posters to the Library of Congress. One of the many gems in the collection is a 1921 color lithographic poster (shown above) for the second Tarzan movie.
