Jerry Greene is what you would call a “completist.” For 50 years, he collected toy trains and all their acompanying buildings, people, and vehicles, until he had over 40,000 items and there was nothing left to collect. His collection is worth tens of millions of dollars, and will be auctioned soon to a SINGLE bidder.
I’m glad to see this incredible collection will be kept whole and not be parsed out. With any luck, a museum will buy it and put it on display for the rest of us to enjoy.
Great, collect all you can and then sell it. And when its sold, start collecting something new. I love this kind of collectors……
