This vintage chalkware bank was made in Japan, but beyond that I really don’t know much about it. It’s old, and it may or may not be an officially-licensed King Kong product, but if it’s not, it sure looks like it is!
The bank stands around 8″ tall. There’s a coin slot on Kong’s back, but if you ever wanted to get your money back, you’d have to smash the guy open!
Yaaaawn. The only thing missing from that mouth is a hook!

“Don’t be alarmed, ladies and gentlemen. Those chains are made of chrome steel.” All month long, I will be showing off King Kong collectibles from my personal collection in a series called KONGTOBER, so if you’re a fan of King Kong and movie monsters, I think you’re going to like what you see.

That’s awesome. I remember watching the old black and white one when I was a kid in the 80s. Classic!

Thanks Wendy. It is in pretty nice shape considering how fragile it is. Kind of makes me nervous seeing it high on a shelf. 😉
