How appropriate that this should arrive in my mail box today:
Sure, 7-11 is offering free Slurpees today, but if I had that flux capacitor working on my time machine, I’d be headed back to 1976 to pick up on of the free plastic cups they were handing out.
I bought this poster on eBay last week. From the pictures, I couldn’t tell if it was a silk screen print or not, but I still thought it was pretty great. Unfortunately, it’s not a silk screen, but a mass-produced 4-color poster, but I still love it.
Just look at this guy:
What’s not to love?

I had that cup. My mom threw it and a ton more away while my brother and I were in school….curse you mother.
Brian says
ouch. The best response to these horror stories is to tell your mom how those same cups could have paid for that tuition (not really).
Christopher Noon says
It’s funny. That version of King Kong was just on HBO Family earlier tonight.
Brian says
Yep, i caught it last week. I always get sucked in to watching it if I see it is on.
Christopher Noon says
Yeah, the best part of that movie is when King Kong and The Dude go bowling – then they team up to fight the MCP on their lightcycles.
Brian says
Hmmm. I must have have been pouring myself a white Russian during that scene. 😉
Christopher Noon says
That’s a shame – best scene of the movie!
It’s okay, though I screencapped it for you
Christopher Noon says
Oops – looks like the screencap didn’t take. Let me try that again.

There you go – best scene of the movie.
Brian says
HAHAHAHA! Now I definitely need to watch it again. 😉
Christopher Noon says
Yeah, you can’t miss it. It’s right after Dwan gets bitten by the snake and right before Kong soils Jack Prescott’s rug (a shame, too – it really tied the room together.)
The Sexy Armpit says
I’m a huge fan of Dino’s King Kong. I always defend it. This is a great pickup. I was always tempted to get that cup on ebay.
Brian says
Now that I have this poster that cup tempts me more than ever! 😉
Darrin says
My Bro and I had some of these!! What a great graphic. 7-11 was Da Bomb back in the 70’s and 80’s!
