Cool and Collected

Collecting pop culture toys, comics, and collectibles collections

September 4, 2012 By 12 Comments

It came in the mail: Hot Wheels “Back to the Future” DeLorean

After my vocal denial of being a Hot Wheels collector, my pal Dex from AEIOU and Sometimes Why sent me a little care package which contained this…

Yes! The Back to the Future DeLorean is now a member of my growing pop culture fleet of cars. But wait, there’s more…

Also included in the box were these two colorful ping pong balls. I cracked them open to find miniature Batman and Joker figures that are actually very close to being the same scale as the Hot Wheels cars!

I had no idea these Heroics figures existed, but now I have to buy them all. Thanks Dex, you have just given me a whole new toy line to add to my photos!

Those actually came to me from jboypacman, but I knew they’d find a good home with your Batmobile collection. There are Marvel and DC lines. I’ve seen them in WalMart (where there are usually a lot of opened, empty balls and an occasional loose figure) and Toys R Us. They’re around a buck which isn’t bad, aside from them being blind packed 🙂

There was a lawsuit settled recently against the compnay that makes Heroics (Tree House Kids) filed by NECA/WizKids, makers of HeroClix. They claimed the name Heroics and small superhero figures could cause people to mistake them for HeroClix. They will be known as “Zerboz” in the future. How’s that for a name that tells you nothing about the product?

Well, whatever they decide to call them, I think they’re pretty rad and have already picked up a few on eBay to tide me over until I can find them at the store. Thanks again Dex!

That DeLorean is sweet! I didn’t know about those Heroics either. You may have some competition collecting those! 😉

I swear, every time I come here I add to my “Need To Collect” list. My wife is becoming quite upset with you, Brian!

If jboy hadn’t sent them to me, Brian wouldn’t have them =)

I have a “box o geek stuff” that I’ve been adding to over the past few months so anytime I send something to a fellow blogger there’s always a few surprises in it too.

Good stuff. I have the Deloran in my BTTF collection thanks to a friend. I need the large scale Delorean next. Not sure if that’s Hot Wheels though.

As much as I love some of the designs by Hot Wheels. I just can’t bring myself to buy any toy/model car that has massive rims, especially the classics. Bad taste Hot Wheels.
