I went to the D.C. Big Flea today, a somewhat regular event where antique dealers gather en masse to hawk their stuff. I picked up a few neat vintage Batman items and an original one-sheet poster for The Spy Who Loved Me. A highlight was seeing Gary Sohmers of Antiques Roadshow fame. Gary was manning his own booth and offering free appraisals. He is the expert on pop culture items on the Roadshow and is really the only reason to watch the show in my opinion, because the items he reviews are usually the only things I’d actually pay fair value for.
There were lots of fun antique Halloween decorations.
Some items from Gary Sohmer’s booth filled with pop culture icons.
