So, I was digging through some boxes last weekend, trying to find items to put up in the store, and I came across this yard sale find from last summer…
I am the worst at identifying Transformers, but after a bit of research, it certainly appears to be a Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals 2 Megatron, but the coloring is all wrong. This figure is typically red and yellow, and there was a blue version as well, but I can not find a green and black version like this one anywhere.
Anyone out there able to help me out and tell me what the heck I have?
Ok this might be a “Knock-Off” version that was sold at Big Lots Brian. I was snooping around at the TFArchive.com site a review of one of these turned up but am not for sure if this is one or not. Does it have a Hasbro or Takara stamp on it anywhere?
I think you might be right. Eric at Toyriffic sent me this link and it looks really close to the one in the photo, which is a knockoff: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/161768-ko-transmetal-2-megatron.html. I can’t find any markings on the thing anywhere.
I’ve never seen one before, but it does appear to be a variation of the Transmetal 2 Megatron .. the guy in this post (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/161768-ko-transmetal-2-megatron.html) has one, and that is quite literally the only reference to it that I could find!
