The last two posts showed how I made the forest diorama, and now it’s time to see it in action…
G.I. Joe action figures fit right into the landscape.
By adding a few sticks to the scene, the photo has more depth.
A red light bulb was used to simulate the brake lights of the vehicle. A bluish LED flashlight gives the effect of headlights shining on the figure.
This Halo Warthog is only a few inches long, but still looks to scale on the diorama.
I really like how this photo turned out but you need to see it large to appreciate it.
A string of red LED Christmas lights was added to the background in this shot.
Sectaurs!
Overall, I’m pleased with the way the forest diorama is working for the photos. It’s flexible enough to work with a variety of toy lines and scales without the need for any modifications. I will be able to get plenty of use out of this backdrop, and when I’m done, I can just pull out the trees and put the whole thing into storage.
You can see larger versions of these photos on my Flickr page.

That’s awesome Brian! I live in an apartment, so I don’t have a place where I can make these awesome dioramas. But who knows? I may just work with what I can, and see how that pans out. Having a few dioramas would definitely tempt me into actually playing with my toys. 🙂

Thanks Jason. If you plan these out, you can make one so that it stores flat and just shove it under a bed when you’re not using it.

Really great pics. Now you need one with Jason Vorhees, and a mini victim.

As soon as I track down a figure, I’ll take a picture for you. 😉
