For some reason, while perusing the yard sales this weekend, I got on a vinyl kick. I don’t collect records and I don’t own a record player, but the artwork on some of these old records just took hold and wouldn’t let go. My mind started to visualize how great these album jackets would look when grouped with other items in a collector’s collection, or hanging framed on the wall. Check out what I brought home:
Most of these were just a dollar and none of them was more than three bucks, which seems to be the norm for records like these. To be honest, I think the sellers could double their money if they sold these for the art rather than for the records (sacrilege, I know!).
Who doesn’t get nostalgic looking at images like this Iron Butterfly jacket. If this doesn’t summarize the 60’s and 70’s vibe, I don’t know what does!
If you want to know what I was drawing on my Trapper Keepers in the 80’s it was this guy…
Look at the great horror art in the die-cut jacket of the Son of Dracula. The music is probably dreadful but the photos here would make a great backdrop for a horror collection.
Remember how cool we were back in the 80’s…
And if this 2001: A Space Odyssey wouldn’t look great with my vintage Matt Mason and Archer space men, I don’t know what would…
Look out vinyl collectors, I think I might be hooked! Anyone else out there scooping these up?

Your right about the album art, it is pretty cool. Some of the classic albums might be worth something. You got a great deal getting them for under $3. You should get a good record player and listen to them some time. I have the wiz and prince albums myself.
