Cool and Collected

Collecting pop culture toys, comics, and collectibles collections

October 8, 2013 By Brian 34 Comments

Announcing: Cool & Collected — The Magazine for Pop Culture Collectors

It’s actually happening! Allow me to introduce you to my new baby, Cool & Collected, the magazine!

Cool & Collected Magazine for pop culture collectors

Faithful readers will know that this is an idea that has been brewing for a while now, and I may not have been too vocal about it lately here on the site, but rest assured, the magazine production has been in full swing. With the help of many incredible people, the first issue is almost complete and I have opened up a Kickstarter campaign to fund the printing and distribution costs. I wanted to give a big thank you to a few of my friends who have made this issue possible through their volunteer efforts:

  • Howie Decker of Under Scoop Fire
  • M. Carrigan of the Surfing Pizza
  • John Sholtz of the Batcave Toy Room
  • Rich Delligatti of the Nerd Nook
  • Cody Mix of the Crooked Ninja Turtle Gang
  • Todd Sheffer and Hakes Americana & Collectibles
  • Kevin Johnson
  • …and more!

I’ve spoken to many more of you about contributing articles, and we’re still on! There are more pages to fill! So, don’t give up on me yet if you still want to be a part of this (you know who you are!). And for everyone else who offered to lend a hand, I am very willing to accept it, just get in touch with me somehow and we’ll make it happen.

The initial response to the magazine idea was truly overwhelming and I hoped to involve as many of you in the process as possible. I was blown away by the number of people who offered to volunteer their time, expertise, and knowledge in order to help get this project off the ground.

At this point, if you want to support this project, please consider backing the Kickstarter campaign. If you run, or know of a company that caters to collectors, there are plenty of advertising possibilities available. Every little bit will help and I can’t thank you enough for your support.

Visit the Kickstarter Campaign.

Awesome! I am very excited about this. The only magazines I read are back issues of Nintendo Power, so this will be a nice change. I’m hoping one of your stretch goals will be to ship to Canada! ( I wanted to pledge to the next level higher, but it would let me due to the shipping restrictions)

The design and layout look stellar! Can’t wait.

International shipping was a headache I just didn’t want to get into at this point, but I’m sure we can figure something out later.

      Thanks for your support!
