Action figure photo shoot: G.I. Joe Cobra troops

GI Joe Action Figures - photography

I’m having way too much fun photographing these action figures…

I wanted to take some photos with more than one figure to get some more depth into the scene.

A black plastic plant tray works great as a security fence.

I lit this guy with a small LED flashlight, which gives a stark contrast to the darkness around him.

It’s amazing how changing the area of focus can tell an entirely different story.

These figures are so detailed, they make for some great subject matter for experimenting with lighting and depth of field, and the best part is that they don’t move — except for when I bump the table and they all fall over like dominoes.

These look great! I have a nice camera that I finally learned how to use and I need to venture into the background-making world next.

Spray paint and egg cartons here I come πŸ™‚

Be careful Tommy, I’m pretty sure spray paint will melt styrofoam egg cartons. πŸ˜‰

Actually we have a lot of stuff! Mostly vintage. Got some Sky commanders, aiir raiders, got a mum-ra’s tomb, lots of loose figs including motu knock offs, gi joes, transformers, mask, Dino riders, it’s really a shmorgas board of vintage and new stuff.

That sounds great. I might be interested in the GI Joes, MASK and Dino Riders if you have them with their boxes/packaging. Shoot me an email if you have anything that fits the bill and aren’t opposed to shipping stuff.

Cool no most of that stuff is all loose, we’re still pretty new at it so don’t have a lot of really good boxed stuff. Although if I come acros some stuff like that I’ll keep you in mind! I do have some neat on card stuff including some secret wars stuff. If I come across anything I’ll send you an email!
