A Collection a Day #65, originally uploaded by Cool and Collected.
By being a collector of pop culture, most items I collect are by no means unique. They are mass produced, and readily available as long as you have readily available funds. Today’s collection is a little different, though, as it is one of the truly one of a kind items in my collections.
Here are the original artist stats and mockups used to produce the Hulk Rub n’ Play set in the 70’s. These are the items that the designer provided to the printer to use for production of the box and insert. I’ve been a graphic designer long enough, that I remember having to put these kinds of boards together, in the days before computers ruled the world. None of my projects were nearly this cool, though.
If you see a sudden influx of these play sets on eBay, you will know that I must be hard up for cash, and found a printer in China to knock out a few “vintage” Hulk collectibles. Did I say that out loud?
I have collected so many different things that I thought it would be fun to try and photograph a collection a day and see how far I can get.
