A Collection a Day #57 – Black Hole trading cards, originally uploaded by Cool and Collected.
Remember when we all thought this movie was going to be the next “Star Wars?” Well, it missed that mark by just a teeny tiny bit, but once the nostalgia factor kicked in, some of us grew to love it (well, like it a lot).
Why was the “Black Hole” such a great movie you ask? Well, it had Ernest Borgnine in it, but it was also the first Disney movie to have any profanity in it, and was also the first Disney flick to have a person die. Those were the days, weren’t they?
I have always been jealous of baseball card collectors. That field of collecting is constantly changing its product in new and exciting ways that play up the hype and makes collectors go insane every season. I really wish that someone would take that formula and replicate it successfully in an area that interests me. Until that happens, I have to be satisfied with these nostalgic snippets from old, mediocre movies. Can’t someone throw in an autograph card or piece of a costume to bring the non-sports card market up to par with those baseball cards?
I have collected so many different things that I thought it would be fun to try and photograph a collection a day and see how far I can get.
