A Collection a Day #49 – Mexican lobby cards

Have you ever tried to get a movie poster or lobby card at an auction or from a reseller only to find that it was way out of your budget? After that happened to me too many times to count, I lowered my collecting standards and started to look across the border.

Mexican lobby cards and posters have great art and can be found at bargain basement prices. If you can get past the language barrier, this is a great way to add to your collection some of those rare titles like “Jesse James Meets Frankenstein’s Daughter” or “Mighty Joe Young.” Personally, I’ve grown to love the foreign aspect of these and think it even adds to the “B” movie quality. I mean what’s better than a Japanese movie with lip-synched dialogue and a Mexican poster?

I have collected so many different things that I thought it would be fun to try and photograph a collection a day and see how far I can get.
