One day I was thinking how much time I spend playing Halo (and still do) and it dawned on me that this Master Chief guy could very well be a serious collectible of tomorrow. What other entertainment franchise has a fan base that rivals this guy? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I think Halo is this generation’s Star Wars. Now, if they could just make the damn movie…

Once the light bulb clicked on, I started to collect anything and everything Master Chief. The picture above shows a sizable portion of my collection of statues and figures, but I also have the Mountain Dew cans, the Slurpee cups, the games and books, and I even have a life size cardboard cutout from the release of Halo 3 (much to my wife’s joy).

I like how the character has changed with each iteration of the game and the toys and advertising items reflect the change. I still prefer the original though, and that bright green Joyride figure has always been favorite.

What do you think? Am I nuts or are 40-somethings in 2035 going to clamoring for these guys on eBay?

I have collected so many different things that I thought it would be fun to try and photograph a collection a day and see how far I can get.
