A Collection a Day #13 – Arrowheads, originally uploaded by Cool and Collected.
One of my favorite things to do is to go on nature walks with my kids and search for “treasures.” Before I die, I vow to find an arrowhead in the wild. Most of the arrowheads in this picture came from my grandfather’s collection, and I purchased a couple of them at a local auction.
I don’t know much about these other than where they were found. Apparently, it’s fairly easy to create fake arrowheads and some shady dealers sell them as the real thing, so be careful if you plan to buy some.
I have collected so many different things that I thought it would be fun to try and photograph a collection a day and see how far I can get.

Yes arrowhead collecting can be a very rewarding hobby and an excellent way to get children excited about the outdoors and Native American history. I started collecting arrowheads as a child tagging along with my Dad and Uncles 30 years ago. Today artifact hunting is still my favorite hobby.
Yours is a very nice little collection of artifacts, from photo all look to be authentic.
Good Luck making your own find soon.
